Question about publication/call for papers

I have been following various sites to find calls for papers and articles, which are the following:

• Academia
• Fabula
• cfp.english.upenn.edu

My thesis is in media/cultural/gender/film/fandom/Science Fiction studies, and I was wondering if any of you had other sites in mind to check calls for papers, or to get published.

I get most of my CFPs through listservs--WMST-L for gender studies stuff might be relevant to your interests? Though there's a lot of wank on there, too. :/

Not a source of calls, but I have a friend who is a phd student in the media studies dept at Cardiff, also doing fandom/sci fi stuff, and she's sent me announcements that are relevant to my work, so she must have some good sources. I could introduce you? She's on DW/LJ, but we're not connected through this account.

I also get most of mine through list-servs. My department also forwards any they get.

I wish that my department or my university in general was helpful, but they definitely aren't. *shakes head*

As for listservs, maybe I should get into those. *ponders*

I admit that I never used listservs. While I know what they are I'm even unsure I know how to use them.

Oh, I'd be very interested if you could introduce your friend and I. It'd be very appreciated. :)
