Moodle?

Are any of you using Moodle for your courses at all? What are your thoughts on it?

I used it several years ago as an undergrad at Glasgow and liked the functionality, though I'd grown accustomed to Blackboard, which is what I'd had at Smith. WebCT was what we used at Birmingham and I was Unimpressed with it.

When I was a student we used Blackboard, but my department has a lot of distance learners, and *they* use Moodle. I like it - it's flexible, more attractive and user-friendly than Blackboard (IMO). You can easily use a variety of media, have forums, etc., and apparently also have live chats though we don't do that (yet).

If you want more detailed information I can ask our IT guy for more info.
