I'm reviewing (read : rewriting) the chapters I have been writing till now, cursing myself for my lack of grammar consideration and my too-well-known fail at bibliography (this is almost ritual) ("ritual" in archaeology is a word we use to mean "I don't know why they did that"). Did you manage to survive the explosion ?
I've started working on a new chapter, which so far seems to be going pretty well (I always say that, then I actually start writing it :/). I also sent off a proposal based on my MA dissertation to a Call for Papers for a collection of essays on sexuality in science fiction.
I've been doing a LOT of teaching and marking, including dealing with the spelling, grammar, punctuation, structure and style issues of 25 40-page project reports from the Engineering department D: And then delivering my general feedback to a lecture hall full of 250 Engineering students D: D:
I've had a couple of bits of good news: I got my hands on my very first published piece of writing, a book review for Foundation: The International Journal of Science Fiction; I'm also going to be delivering a paper at the UK Media, Communication and Cultural Studies Association 2011 conference in January.

I reached 53 books studied this year and still have 4 left in the pile at home to complete before Christmas holiday.
I finished to prepare the communication I give end of the month, and I have 4 other submissions to write before end of the month/December 21.

I don't have a job right now which is why I try to push as far as I can when it comes to my PhD, as I hope to start teaching next fall. :)
