Date: 2010-08-04 03:42 pm (UTC)In the rational world, I keep stumbling on interesting things in my research, and I'm glad I have such a good mentor that I can ask how she thinks I should best work them in. (Is it relevant that the school Annual Reports never mention race, but the newspapers always highlight the non-white students? I think so! But I don't know how to talk about that.)

My supervisor has been making a heroic effort for the last 2 years to get me to scale things down a bit and focus on something manageable, but the volume of theories and texts and disciplines that are implicated in my topic is still ridiculous.

Date: 2010-08-05 07:02 am (UTC)Now the only things getting in the way of me finishing it are the usual end-of-second-year suspects: I'm tired, I'm fed up, I've completely lost sight of why I ever wanted to do this in the first place, and I just wish the damn thing was finished :/
